They look like overpriced girdle panties. However, I am 3 weeks post op, and still want to wear these every day. They are just the right amount of support to make me feel safely held up and in, without feeling squished like a girdle panty would. I especially recommend these to bigger ladies like me who have a belly that rolls over. A floppy belly hurts when recovering, but these nicely hold it in place. They also reach to my bra strap and don't roll down! (I'm about 5'10", 300 lbs. I'm not sure how much larger of a lady these would be comfy for, but I would guess 20 more pounds would fit.) After 4 days in hospital and trying an abdominal binder that hurt horribly, I was leary of putting these panties on thinking it would cause more pain. When I got up the courage, the difference in pain was amazing. I could move around easier with less pain and my back muscles weren't taking the brunt of the work. I left them off one day and my pain increased back to the beginning of my recovery.
