At first, it looks like a plain brown vest that retail workers use. For costume, I thought I was going to have to embellish it to make it look more western. It was exactly what I was looking for but didn't know it. All I actually put on my vest was a sheriff star. I feel like if I had embellished it or gotten something more "western" my costume would look too much like a cartoon or like a suit straight from the value bin.All in all it is plain, yes ,but absolutely versatile and does the jobThe material of the vest is lightweight but not silky soft. There is no stretch and has no closures.
