The mount is solid. I've used a similar design and the clamp is tight. I feel safe at high speeds and on bumpy roads, although I also pair this with the common rubber band for extra security. Depending on the width of your phone, it will sit slightly off-center because the mount bolt sits dead center, and the clamp arm extends to one side.The issue for me is the video quality. The mechanism that allows the angle adjustment for the phone allows for slight up-and-down play in the entire platform. It's not much, but enough that my old Hero2 without image stabilization puts out very distorted video from the up and down movement. I didn't have this problem with a straight bar mount for the GoPro. Additionally, not sure if the plastic housing of the Hero2 has slightly smaller connectors, but I could not get the case mounted tight enough to prevent bumps at high speed from shifting the camera angle down. I tightened all bolts to about 5nm.
