The 18 inch is recommended for riders, 40" - 52". **Q: Is the 18 inch bike too large for a boy turning 4? He's 90% for height.** A: The 18" bike is recommended for riders 5-9 with a height of 42"-52". The stand over height for the 18" is about 20".
