The MeatStick Bluetooth Meat Thermometer Set, 8.2 x 6.7 x 2 inches, stainless steel

I really liked the idea of a wireless probe especially for rotisserie which is why I didn't mind spending the money. I found it very difficult to set up and get it to transmit. It was also not accurate by 10 or 15 degrees. I was also worried about the battery in the probe and its longevity. A battery and electronics in a probe that could potentially get very hot I think is a recipe for failure. I sent it back. I found one on the Thermopro website that met all my requirements included a calibration feature.

First attempt to set up worked fine - then abruptly lost connection. Spent 2 hours re-booting and trying to reconnect. All it would say is "no internet" which was not correct as I could easily jump on internet sitting in the same chair with the bridge and probe next to me. Clearly pre-mature release with way too many bugs.

First, quickly: Support is HORRIBLE and none existent. The Customer Support phone number connects to a voicemail that says to email [email protected] That's NOT ok. It gets worse, when you do email that address, you receive no reply. Nothing. Black hole. You don't even get an automated reply saying that your message was received or that a ticket was opened. This is wholly unacceptable in this day and age, and certain for a product at this price point.Anyway, I really wanted this to work, I really did. I asked for and received this for Fathers Day and was pretty excited about it. I like to smoke a brisket from time to time and this would allow me to run errands (meet up with friends for a beer!) or whatever.It arrived and both sticks had bad batteries. They wouldn't charge over 30-50%, then quickly died during the cook. Also connection was lost constantly from inside the smoke. I had the wifi bridge sitting right less that 12 inches away from the sticks via an extension cord. Nope. Still not strong enough.Ok fine, so the 2 pens have bad batteries, I'll contact the company and see if I can get replacements. NOPE! (see above) So the whole thing is being Returned to Amazon and that's that. Lesson learned. Avoid this, it's not ready, at all. Waste of money.

Works as advertised, had no issues with using it in oven or smoker using the WiFi extender I could be anywhere and check on the cook. WiFi extender is really a needed add on if your planning on using in an oven or smoker as Bluetooth just isn’t gonna have much power to work more than 10-15 ft away inside a metal box....can’t expect it to. But I found using the WiFi extender on the counter next to the stove worked great and inside the house next to a window for the smoker outside. I have a brisket to smoke this weekend so we will he testing out battery life of the probes during that cook as it will last upwards of 12hours. All and all very pleased, app is simple to setup and use lots of instructions. I did have one oops. I couldn’t get it to see the probe the first time till I went back through the app and it said if the probe is one the charger longer than 7min you’ll have to remove and place back on the charger to wake up the probe. Once I did that it was very simple and straightforward, temp updates are fairly quick being just a few seconds apart. I did like that fact that if I closed the app or unplugged the WiFi extender it would pick back up where it left off with no need to setup the cook again. I did find the probes easy to clean but the little black ends were a little tricky to get completely clean. If your looking for a truly wireless temp probe then I’d get these over other brands. P.S. the estimated finish time is a nice feature and seems to be fairly accurate. Also once the cook is started you don’t have to look at the app on your phone as the WiFi extender displays the temps for quicker reference.

I wanted these to work for me sooo bad but I had to face the facts and send them back! The Thermometers were not accurate at all... one minute it would say I had 20 min’s left in the cook and then a few min later it would say I had over and hour left.. had 3 thermometer sticks and all 3 registered a totally different ambient temp...and when it said the cook required more time and I followed my gut and took the meat off the grill the meat was fully cooked so if I would have waited for the meat stick to tell me the meat was done it would’ve been over cooked and ruined! Complete junk! Don’t waist your time or money!

Product is completely useless inside of anything I have tried...oven, BGE, conventional smoker.As soon as you close the door the Bluetooth connection breaks. Which pretty much defeats the purpose of having a wireless device.Would not recommend!

Quite excited for this toy! Got here just in time for Thanksgiving. Did a test run to make sure it worked properly. (Didn't want to screw up the big day) First I setup the bridge and then realized I needed to charge the probes for a few hours, but it seemed ok for a few minutes, so while one charged I stuck the other into a chicken and threw that in the oven. The connection seemed pretty well throughout the house, but the real question was how well would it work outside the house? I went to my backyard and I watched the temperature slowly creep up! It works! Going to charge both to make sure they're good to go for the big Turkey now!

I cook pretty often and usually using an instant read or wired thermometers for long cooks. Ideally I'd want a wired to use for all my cooks, but the wires always get in the way (moving from stove to cutting board to oven etc etc) such a pain in the... but anyway thought I'd give this a try and wow. So easy to use and so convenient. There's some minor things I wish they did differently, but overall it works great so far, temps are on point too! Sometimes it can be a bit off, but when I use my instant read to double check, it really is correct, it's just that location is a bit different. Overall I'm happy. I have it set up permanently on my stove to use whenever I cook.
