It is not too big so it doesn't tak a lot of space. The board its self is nice. I like the wood. What I don't like completely are the stones. there are made of plastic and super light which makes them a bit difficult to place and keep in place on board. Anyway I would buy it again. A customer already complained about 12x12, What gives.** A: 19x19 refers to the game size of the board. Not 19 inches by 19 inches, but 19 game lines by 19 game lines. **Q: Are the stones made from plastic, glass or wood?** A: crappy plastic! Not a very good set! I don't recommend it. Go find it at the game shop at a mall. Better quality there. My husband and I bought this as we became interested at finding a very nice, but very expensive set at Barnes and Noble. I'd make sure to pick up a How To book on how to play or turn to the internet to read some good wiki's on how to play before you break it out. Be prepared to get a little frustrated as you figure out strategy! My only complaint is that the baggies that the stones were sent in are very cheap and not at all nice. Our black bag ripped IN the packaging so when we unboxed it, black stones fell out all over the floor.
