Be wary of claims such as “organic” or “California” on the labels of other brands. European nuts are sweet with a nuanced flavor profile. With a minute of half-hearted research, you will find virtually all of these products are grown in China. I can’t get past the taste of motor oil from Asian “pine nuts”. I always buy raw American pine nuts and they usually taste fresher and crunchier .
