He's 3 feet and about 40 lbs and the 5T fit. The pants are a bit narrow and long for him, but they work. We machine wash cold, dry medium heat and they havent shrunk. The colors have faded a bit though. (The stain in the pic is from my son- he's a messy eater lol) The tags say 100% cotton and it does feel like thin cotton. On the advice of the other reviews I ordered a size larger than my son normally wears so they look like they will fit him okay. I was very disappointed in the material and the printing. The material is extremely thin. The sharks are very faded looking and the red fish have zero detail. You can only tell they are fish from a bit of a distance. Up close they just look like blond.
