It was packaged very securely in a plastic bag, and the plastic bag was in a typical zippered plastic comforter pouch...thing. It expanded like the Blob when I took it out, but this is a good thing. I have a new queen size bed and wanted a king sized comforter so I could pretend I'm grander than my station.The color is a beautiful deep navy, just as I expected it to be. It's rather thin for a comforter, but it's heavy and warm at the same time.The only reasons I'm giving it four stars is because the charcoal color is much lighter than it appears in the picture. I expected a darker gray, almost black, but instead it's more like a medium gray. It's not a big deal because gray is one of the colors I'm using in my color scheme, but be just be aware that the colors are not exact. It's also pretty wrinkly from being in the bags.
