Calendar quality is still good. Saved by brave Brits who smuggled out of China some of them.Originally sporting and working dogs used by the Emperors to flush out pheasants, they, today are classed as non-sporting dogs.In the 1920's, they were the rage in Hollywood.The most famous breeder back then was Lothar Zifferer who built a kennel, The Far East Kennel in Columbia, Pa. Curiously, he bred the only pure white, non-albino Chows. And Hollywood flocked to his unique oriental styled facility.Over the years, many famous people have owned them...Georgia O'Keeke, Gov.
