I bought the much more expensive Browning Camping Directors chair first because of the lighter weight but it is not nearly as comfortable as this chair. I needed a higher sitting chair due to recent bilateral knee replacements and this is just perfect height (I am 5'8") - I take to the beach and anywhere else I want to be comfortable. I use it in the house too - getting up from regular chairs is still difficult at this point (post op 4 months) but even when I'm totally recovered - I will still be using this chair often. Holds up nice and compact for its size. It's pretty wide with is good beacause not everyone is the same size. I bought it for my freelance makeup career for the mean while until I get a better one. The only thing I would say is that if you're buying this for doing makeup then just be warned! The chair is tall but not tall enough of you're more than 5'5" ! It is not tall enough when doing a clients makeup who is shorter than me.
