I had been playing guitar for my church and miking my acoustic 12-string. I needed something amplified. I had known about Washburn, played a few and always liked them. I was a little leery of purchasing a guitar online that I had never played, but decided to try. I am extremely pleased. Out of the box, the action was smooth and even, and the tone was very even throughout the range. It sounds great with or without amplification. It was a great purchase. The only downsides: The preamp uses a 9V battery. Take it out when you are not using it or you will be replacing it weekly. You also run the risk of it leaking if you do not use it for a while. I've owned a couple Wasburns in the past and never had a negative issue with them before and with this one I am even happier with it. If your looking for a guitar that sounds and plays like a guitar that costs 3 times as much, then this guitar is what your looking for. It was shipped way faster than described packaged really well. It would have been nice if it came with a case, but I bought a washburn case too for a hundred bucks that just really made this guitar a really good investment for just over $500! I've bought guitars well above that, that didn't sound or play anywhere near this one. If your looking at this guitar then stop looking and purchase it..
