They have nice new TV with no audio out. So to use Roku (or Google Chrome, Amazon Fire, etc.) with soundbar wasn't possible, until getting this product. The guys at Best Buy were unable to help. I returned two suggestions they made. This product did the trick. Very simple: Plug in Roku to ZAMO's HDMI in. Connect ZAMO HDMI out to TV HDMI in (where the Roku was plugged in before) via HDMI cable. Connect ZAMO optical sound out to soundbar's optical sound in via optical cable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Met my needs and expectations. *by B***2 on March 10, 2018* This was a must purchase after I bought my new Roku stick. I needed to bring good sound back to my external speakers. You know how tv speakers don't sound near as good as your own speaker system. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works with Sonos produts *by B***A on December 4, 2018* I bought this to connect my Sonos Beam with my projector and the rest of the devices that I have connected (Apple TV, Switch, PS4).
