This is in no way real stone. It might be sand, but it’s affectively similar to dense paper mache. It’s a small issue to some. Larger for others. But it is priced as if it were stone. And reviewers are claiming it is (which they cannot possibly believe). It’s just simply not stone.. There is no question about that.Can you bend it like any other laptop cover? YES!. Can you scratch it with your fingernail and reveal layers of paper? YES!Is the logo printed with regular ink, and soaked through multiple layers of paper? YES!I can confirm all of these things. (And yes, I did scratch through the printed logo to find layers of paper)This laptop cover looks amazing. It’s visually unique and texturally pleasing. It has that.But it’s a good product that is designed to look great, not be actual quarried stone as other reviews suggest. It’s not stone. Period.This company has been responsive and I do appreciate that they care about their customers and respond to problems right away. What is is, in actuality, is crushed stone (think sand) adhered to a felt 3M backer and formed in a stone like pattern. Real stone that was quarried would have zero flexibility and provide protection. This is not that nor does it provide any protection. Super expensive for the rather low quality. After reading the product info I decided to buy one and didn't regret it! It's real stone and gives you this awesome calming feeling when you touch your laptop, it feels great to have a part of nature on top of my laptop. It looks great and really does change overtime with patina (mine is rusting!). I haven't seen any pieces fall of for now (1 month), it seems pretty well made.
