Are these safe?** A: I have yet to have a problem with them, they are used mainly on carpet or wood flooring. I also gave one as a gift and have received no complaints about the paint chipping either. **Q: I noticed two different block sizes in the pictures; what size are they? 1" or 1.75"? Thanks!** A: The blocks are 1.75 inch cubes. A much better size for my 20 month old to stack and recognize the drawings. **Q: Can you spell out "Emmett" with these blocks and if so would they have different colors?** A: These are the best wooden blocks I purchased... But no It wouldn’t spell Emmett. the double letters that you get are A, C, E, I, O, T... so you wouldn’t have the extra M that you need :( **Q: Are these blocks embossed or just painted?** A: It's both. The front and back of each cube will have a painted raised letter and raised number.
