I’m grandma and we gave this to our granddaughter on her eighth birthday recently.Mom and Dad are very active in their non-denominational Christian church. I’m mentioning that because I know that little readers need books that feed their curiosity without confusion or conflicting with a family’s value system.Our granddaughter thinks it’s great. She has loved reading it already, and I know she will fun creating and experimenting with the recipes in the book! None of the recipes are potions.Great, creative book to stir imagination and encourage reading!

My daughter recently found a spell book given to me that I was going to get rid of and she became very excited about doing magic. Because I found adult content in it I quickly disappeared it and got to looking for a child-friendly one.It’s pretty difficult to decide on any books online because I don’t know what’s actually in them. I didn’t want to find any ego-driven magic and love potions, which this book thankfully dispels.I decided to help other shoppers by including sneak peeks of this book without giving away too much.I found this book very benign and kid-friendly with the exception of the half naked man in a tub on one page, picture included above. I am considering using a sharpie to color in some bottoms on him. It’s a thin paperback very much like the NatGeo books.I would recommend this book to any young aspiring magician.

Bought this for my son. He loves making potions and loves the book. They only thing was that it out of his reading range. I would say my son is a decent reader but he had a hard time reading it. Mostly the font of words. I had to read it mostly all to him. But great book overal
