In my opinion, there is an off-putting background smell, but that may only be my personal impression. However, the oil itself is wonderful. In the bottle, it is an off-white buttery lotion, slightly chunky, but when you put it on your skin, your body heat immediately melts it into a silky oil. Only a small amount is needed, and I find my skin increasingly soft and healthy-looking the more I use it. I also use a very small amount on my face and have not had any problems with breakouts or rashes. Just a note, the only ingredients are 100% organic coconut oil and naturally derived scents.
