I had this issue and finally found a kind of resolution. I have an iMac and bought Google Chromecast so that I could cast movies from there onto my tv. I bought a pair of bluetooth Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 speakers thinking that the Chromecast app would let me connect these speakers to my set up. Unfortunately it proved impossible. I could connect my iMac to the UE bluetooth speakers and watch something on my iMac while having the sound come out of the UE bluetooth speakers. But if I wanted to Chromecast a streaming movie from a website I would have to accept the audio coming out of the tv's inferior speaker. That was until I found that you could change the source for Chromecast. Up until now I had left it on the default setting which was to Chromecast a tab. However, if you already have your computer connected to get sound from bluetooth speakers then all you need do is select Cast desktop. The sound will continue to come from your bluetooth speakers while the video is simultaneously on the source screen and on the tv. **Q: Can I use with my mini projector, and watch apps from phone?** A: Yeah you can. Works well for me. But if the usb port on your projector isn't powered you will need to plug the device into the wall like normal. **Q: Can you connect it to multiple wifi? my internet changes from 2.4 to 5 a lot and then i loose connection when watching netflix** A: Apparently from what I can find is the early Chromecast dongles only work 0n 2.4ghz and it seems your phone needs to be on the same band, I have a very similar problem with buffering and dropping out and not connecting on 2.4ghz, my preference is for my phone to be connected to 5ghz as I get a much stronger signal on that bandso I am ditching the old dnogle and geggiting the newer model which will work on both bands, but please do your owns research on Google Chromecast bands in case I have been misinformed/misread. **Q: Can you get Discovery plus through this device** A: Most video streaming applications that are cast-enabled will work with the Chromecast, including Discovery+.
