They average almost 2 years to the month for me. But, I'm also a full time Mechanic at a shop. I work and walk around a lot of chemicals. Mostly Autozone Brake Clean, gasoline and oil. I also wear size 15 wide and I am happy with spending just under $100 every 2 years for these boots. They are very, very comfortable for not needing to be broken in like a lot of other boots. My sole/tread is starting to fall apart from the boot now. But, I also haven't been cleaning and greasing them at the end of every week like I was. I love these boots. If you're not around a lot of chemicals and you clean them and grease them like you're supposed to, I can easily see these boots lasting you 5+ years. I mean, I started flaking on the care and maintenance of them and they last me 2 years walking in harsh chemicals 40 hours a week. I also wear my boots out of work because they're more comfortable than my shoes. **Q: Are these waterproof?** A: I've been wearing Timberland Pro Pit Boss boots for about 8 years now and each pair has never let my feet get wet. They are waterproof and very durable. The pair I have now are at least 3 years old but, alas, the tread is wearing and must be replaced. Oh, and I work in a power plant. **Q: My dad works at a dairy and has a bad back. Was wondering if these are comfortable warm and waterproof?** A: my son who is the person I bought them for says they can take some water but he is not sure about the boots in flooding situations, He has not had that experience . They are not advertised as water proof but so far (rain ) he has not had a problem. My son does have some back problems but has no problem with the comfort of the boot, he did put in a Dr Scholls gel foot pad. Thats about it **Q: What is the warranty on these? These are heavier because have the Goodyear Welt. This is a must have for my boots. They were also on sale for $130 compared to the price of the DA TP ST at $160. I really like the Sturdy feel of these with the bottoms having hard rubber. This will hopefully last longer than Wedge sole on the Irish Setter Wingshooters. Irish Setters and Timberland Pros have always been the most comfortable and offer the best Protection. These are very comfortable and have a roomy Toe Box. Unfortunately they don’t come with the Timberland Pro Honeycomb Anti Fatigue insole. They come with a pretty thick foam AF Sole but it is not as good as the Honeycomb. I have already ordered on which was an additional 20$. I rubbed these down with some Mink Oil like I do all my boots before wearing. I really like the Honey Brown color that they are now. I got them for the lighter wheat look so when they dry I hope they lighten up. If they make these in the same Light Gray as the DA TPs I will buy them in a heartbeat. The Soles wear out on all the Irish Setters and Timberland Pros that I have Owned. I have had the Ashbys, Morabs, and Wingshooters by Irish Setters. For Timberlands I have had the Boondocks and their Composite Toe Work Shoes. I didn’t want to spend another $$180 to $250 on another pair of Irish Setters. I don’t want to pay $150 to get them Resoled when the Tops are worn out and stink. Timberlands are a great Value for the Price. These are an outstanding value for 130$.
