Review: Works Great For It's Designed Function - This is not designed for cigar or cigarette smoke, so don't buy it for that. There are plenty of options for that and definitely don't leave a bad review if you don't understand the function of something you bought. I went from a ghetto solution with a 12V computer fan in a custom 3d printed case to this bad boy. This sucker (pun intended) works so much better than that previous ghetto configuration. I can now solder lead and lead free solder without worrying about inhaling dangerous fumes. It's much larger than it looks like in the picture! I didn't look at the dimensions and based on the price and the photos I saw I thought it would be much smaller. This thing is industrial! Definitely 5 stars and I would encourage anyone to buy it for it's intended purpose of extracting solder fumes.

- Remove solder smoke fumes from soldering workbench with Valtcan VALT921 model equivalent to the Valt496 plus extra filters. Fumes are absorbed by the included replaceable carbon-activated filters. Three 0.4 inch thick carbon-activated filters included. Easily replaceable by swapping out old for new one in filter slot. Pull filter guard out to remove filter and replace with new one. Then push back filter guard to hold filter in place.
- Adjustable tilt for more direct smoke absorption from your workbench. Twist knobs at two ends to loosen and then adjust tilt hood of smoke extractor. Fasten knobs to secure intake hood front when desired angle is obtained.
- Made of ESD safe material, lightweight and durable material. Low noise and efficient pure copper motor operates at acceptable db levels in solder workstations.
- On/off button located in back top of smoke absorber fan. Plugs into standard USA AC 120V socket for power. Comes with extra filters.

**Q: Has anyone used this with spray paint indoors to reduce the fumes?**
A: Hello Yes this absorber fan can work for spray paint like model kit painting jobs but you will need to purchase Fiberglass paint arrestor pads filters and cut them into shape to properly capture the spray paint fumes.

**Q: Does this work for cigar smoke?**
A: Yes during smoking will work better. It will get rid of cloud of smoke in small room too but may take some time.

**Q: My kitchen gets Smokey when cooking will this work?**
A: No, it won’t be strong enough.  It’s meant for very close up extraction.

**Q: How does it work with Tig welding**
A: Don’t know about welding. I use as a filtration unit in my basement apartment when using a 2 burner portable cooktop.

I’ve ordered a couple different versions of fume extractors, and this one seems to be the best for the price. The fan noise is relatively low, it’s no different than a computer running. Suction is good, picks up really well up close and pretty good from 8 to 12 inches out. Comes with some pretty good filters. The frame is a little bulky, but it’s a solid construction. It’s a couple bucks more than I’d like it to be, but overall it’s a good buy.
