    Unbelievable value

*by M***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 22, 2020*

Just got through installing. Was a bit dubious given one or two reviews, particularly the ones regarding leaking from the caliper joints. Checked each side after fitting, no leaks. Hardest part was getting the brake line to fit into the caliper, if you bolt in and secure the calipers before threading in the metal line you will struggle. What I did was put the caliper in the approximate position but did not secure, that gave me the necessary movement I needed to line up and screw the brake line into the caliper. Once you get the brake line started, THEN install the two caliper bolts to secure, not forgetting to tighten the brake line after. A flare wrench is a must otherwise you will likely strip the caliper bleed nipple and brake line fitting, especially if they are rusted or have been on for a while, also never overtighten otherwise they will shear off. I bought my flare wrench from Amazon, it's got 8mm on one side, 10mm on the other. There were a couple of copper washers that came with the order, these are surplus to requirements, I think these are used for rubber hose caliper fittings, you typically get these on rear brake setups. One of the calipers did not have the rubber nipple cover but no big deal. On the face of it everything appeared to be good quality; the rotors, calipers and pads, but time will tell. All were well packaged for delivery and my order was dispatched quickly. If I encounter any problems I will be sure at provide an update. I am keeping my old calipers, I may try and rebuild, that way I have spares. Both of the calipers were also slightly a different shade of silver, one was more grey, but again who really cares, you can always paint to match, and this is common with refurbished calipers which undoubtedly these are, I had a similar color difference when I previously bought the rear calipers from Auto-Zone. If I'd gone to Auto-Zone the cost of the parts for this project would have exceeded $300, and that's including having to give them my old old calipers, so yes based on my experience I would recommend.

    Great upgrade for 2004 Tacoma

*by M***L on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 17, 2022*

The boxes arrived looking like they fell off a train...in a monsoon...during an earthquake. REALLY terribly busted up and looking horrible. Each caliper was loosely packed inside a small box, which were then tossed inside a box with the brake pads (brake pads were just in shrink wrap without a box) . A few segments of air-packing cushion were the only things in the box to keep the contents from banging around. That being said, let's talk about the product itself. The calipers and rotors bolted right up with just minor trimming of the dust shield with tin snips. Less than 5 minutes extra time to swap to these upgraded calipers and rotors. After a thorough brake bleed and bed-in, they worked great. My summary is that the manufacturer, and/or seller need to look at packaging a lot better, but the price and functionality for this is hard to beat...maybe impossible to beat.

Big brake upgrade on a 2001 Toyota Tundra

*by H***D on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 6, 2019*

As the other reviewer stated, I did the 13WL upgrade on a 2001 Tundra to replace the S13WE's that originally came on the vehicle. Went with the standard calipers and rotors (not drilled / slotted) Had to cut down the dust/splash shields and did so with a 4.5" angle grinder. I ended up removing (breaking) the bolt holding the brake line in place so I could swing the caliper out of the way while I cut the shield down. Your other option is to remove the hard line from the caliper and let it leak while you do the work. In total it took me about 2 hours to replace both sides soup to nuts. I had someone help me bleed them as I'm not a fan of the self bleeding kits they sell. Used a small ballpean hammer to tap LIGHTLY on the calipers to remove a few air pockets and that was it... the parts (calipers, rotors, and pads) were cheaply priced but seemed of good quality. Followed the break-in procedures as indicated and everything seems fine from a stopping perspective.I'll have this Tundra for a long time as it's an extra vehicle so I'll be sure to update my review if anything changes. BTW... the Callahan brand ships directly from the PowerStop location so my guess is they are very similar in build quality.
