It's not what I would call a portable unit but I'd consider taking it on a three-day weekend trip if I had space in the car. It's not light but not burdensomely heavy either. I don't think i'd consider taking it to a restaurant though but I suppose you could if you wanted to. That said, it does not fold. **Q: Is this in fact the 2019 version? We bought a 2019 harness separately for the chair, and it doesn't seem to fit. It's too wide.** A: Not sure why your harness doesn’t fit but i bought the current harness from the stokke website and it fit on this chair which, yes, is the 2019 chair. Which part is too wide? The harness looped around the lower piece of the backrest and screws in. The 2019 version of the chair doesn’t have a hole for the screw to go in, but the harness (sold separately from what came in the box) comes with a screw. **Q: The new version of the Tripp Trapp incorporates the harness into the baby seat. Would a 2 or 3 year old be willing to sit in the baby seat?** A: I have absolutely no idea why Stokke thought that their bucket seat could be used until age 3. My 17 month old won’t even fit! Why is there no separate 5 point harness? A 17 month old clearly is too young to be unharnessed, but can’t fit the bucket seat, so what is Stokke proposing we do? I wanted to love this chair and am so disappointed! **Q: I’m a grandma and have a hard time releasing the tray. Is there an easy way to do it?** A: Hello Stokke Customer, Thank you for your interest in Stokke products! When attaching the Stokke Tray, ensure that both hooks on the sides of the tray are properly locked under the edge of the plastic rail before locking it in the middle. Make sure both the Tripp Trapp® Baby Set and the tray are properly fastened prior to use. To remove the tray you need to reach underneath the tray and release the center hook and pull upwards toward the ceiling and the tray should come right off. The material will be a bit stiff in the beginning but it will come right off.
