But they are the best silicone gloves I've found, and the only thing I now use in my kitchen.Advantages are the glove design, protecting the top of my hands as I reach for things on middle shelves; the non-slip pattern on the glove (fairly effective, though still a bit slippery), and the way the silicone protects from heat. I am no longer shopping for a replacement, as I have been for all previous kitchen potholders and mitts I've tried.Disadvantages? Well, if I had the power to redesign them, I'd make them a tad longer (maybe an inch) and experiment with other patterns - maybe a cross-hatch design - that might be even less slippery (though I do love the little hearts as a design). I do have to put down a really hot dish after a few minutes, or I really begin to feel the heat through the glove. But it doesn't burn, and I have plenty of time to set the dish down on the stove or even carry it to the table. I'd still recommend them - and plan on buying some for Christmas stockings next year, since everyone in the family cooks and bakes, and we are all engaged in the search for the perfect potholder or glove. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Work pretty good, but could be better... *by Z***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2015* These cooking gloves are good overall. Easy to put on, good grip, decent insulation. They are not as thick as I thought they would be. If I am grabbing a really heavy pan out of the oven, I can usually feel some heat coming through after a few seconds. I understand that by making only small areas extra thick it will provide more grip strength, but I can definitely feel heat come through on the standard thickness parts. It is kind of a shame to have to use my old cloth hot pads with my heavy pans instead of these gloves. The whole reason I bought these was to throw away my old disgusting cloth hot pads, but alas I still have the gross old pads in a dark corner of my kitchen for the few odd times I bake something really heavy and need them instead of the nifty cool Cooking Gloves I just bought. Oh well. I thought these gloves were hyped up to be the perfect glove from all of the other reviews, but I feel like I should have just bought a new pair of cloth heat pads instead. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Deceptive description - Gloves still seem to be good! *by R***D on Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2015* I like these gloves actually. They seem to do the job so far. I think they are too small for me though. For a guy, I have relatively normal size hands and these gloves feel small to me and do not slip on easily. I would have given these gloves a higher score, but the seller advertises these gloves "Super-tough silicone construct that's optimized to resist high temperatures, to the tune of 450 degrees Fahrenheit", and that's NOT what it says on the box. Check the picture. They are rated to 425! NOT 450!. The description they use is deceiving, and sways people from other products which have the same rating. If you had a pair that said 425 degrees for 20 bucks or one that said 450 degrees for 20 bucks, you would probably go for the 450 degrees like I did!
