The faux leather looks like real leather, not that shiny stuff that screams i'm plastic! The crochet is sturdy enough for my everyday stuff, but if you need a kitchen-sink kind of bag, skip this one (and all crochet bags, probably). It is a little fussy to get into because the slide on the drawstring is a little sticky due to the faux leather. And the interior patch pockets are useless. They're positioned too high inside the bag and have no closure. The zipper pocket is big enough to fit my phone and my small wallet though, and thats good enough for me. The faux leather is a little stiff when you first get it. From using it I realized the two open pockets inside are useless because of how slouchy the backpack is. Whenever I put anything in the pockets, it falls out into the rest of the bag.
