I like that it keeps natural variation in color rather than making your hair flat, 1-tone like box permanent dyes. On my hair it has always stained long-term, so be forewarned. I redo it every 6 weeks or so as my roots come in and the top lightens a bit, but after the first couple of inches the hair has been dyed over several times and doesn't really fade. This has happened with all the colors I've used. That's fine with me.
