I bought them because my daughter has gas while she sleeps and traditional elastic waistbands prevent the natural release, and it causes her a lot of gas pain, she wakes up crying. These are so different, and she can finally sleep all night because the waistband is not so restrictive! They did shrink, though, after a first wash, and became a bit tighter, but not too much. They material is very soft. They are well made, and very nice. I ended up buying four more sets in different colors.
