Took off pull cord cover, swapped out coil, had saw running in twenty minutes. Hopefully the coil will have a long life. I reused the plastic positioner under the coil bolts but I also set the gap with a business card as I tightened the two coil bolts. The coil body was smooth and this one had no soldered on wires. I used the wires that were on the saw. Review: Works but with a little bit of trimming - Not quite a drop-in unit. There were some prep work needed on the product itself - 1. trimming to remove some access manufacturing glue/resin and plastic trim before it could actually "fit" in with some forceful coaxing 2. unsolder one connector on the product (why did they solder it on?) so I can plug the existing "black" wire to the product I used the thickness of the cardbox the product came in for the air gap adjustment between the magnet and the ignitions pole/sensor and that works perfectly. The chainsaw started right up afterwards. Time for a new ignition coil. This coil was reasonably priced, especially when packaged with a new plug.
