I was able to hold the grate for around 5 seconds or so.I recommend letting the grate cool before handling it.I felt the heat but I didn't get burned.The gloves are easy to clean with soap and water. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No complaints, better than I thought *by J***G on Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2018* I was hoping these gloves would stand the heat of my smoke box for my electric smoker. The smoke box gets super hot and has killed several pot holders, including some with the rubberized material on them. I was a bit concerned that these would take the heat since these looked like a rubber material similar to what is on the pot holders. I'm glad to say I was wrong, I was able to pull the smoke box out and these gloves didn't seem phased at all. I was able to use them to pull my pork shoulders from the smoker with ease as well. Very happy with the purchase..If I had one complaint it's that the inside material on these is white, which can get stained by meat juices, marinades, beer, margaritas, etc... I'll accept it as building character.
