I used it for about 4 hours last night on the computer off of a 12 volt power supply in the house, and it was fine. However at full wattage, like if you're charging the battery and using the computer at the same time this power supply says it can pull 10 amps at 12 volts, that is 10 amps at the cigarette lighter connector. So you need to have a pretty good cigarette lighter socket in your car or truck if you're going to use it. The sockets in most vehicles are not actually meant for a cigarette lighter anymore, they're just meant for cell phone chargers and gps, so they might not be able to handle the amperage, and they may heat up and melt. So watch out for that. I've only had it for 2 days, so I don't know anything about the longevity.
