This made the job very simple compared to having to cut strip and solder each individual wire while avoiding any short-circuits. Carefully cut the old battery out one wire at a time as close to the battery as is practical and do not let the wires touch each other. Once you pass that point the rest is easy. Strip the wires slip on the solder and seal connectors couple of minutes with a heat gun and you're good to go. Be careful routing the wires when reinstalling the battery, first time I put it in one of the wires was touching the passive diaphragm on the back of the speaker and cause the sound to distort. Had to pull the battery back out and route the wire away from that part of the speaker, second time was a charm.
