Satisfied With My New Winter Coat
I live in the Chicagoland area and needed a new winter coat to help me survive the cold weather and, even though we have had only a few days below freezing so far, I'd say this coat is doing the job pretty well so far.I'm 5'6.5," 140 lbs, and a dress size 8. According to the size chart that's specific to this coat (not the generic Amazon size chart), my dress size put me at the upper end of a size small. In order to be on the safe size and potentially give myself a little more room in the jacket, I chose to go with a size medium. Overall, I'm satisfied with my choice in size, although I will say that the medium is a little less roomy than I thought. So much so that I'm relieved I didn't go with a size small. While the coat's size chart may make you think it runs a little large (a dress size 6-8 sounds more like a medium to me in general), it runs a little small if not true to size. So I'd see where you are on the size chart dress size-wise and consider going up a size if you don't want a snug-fitting coat. I have room enough in the jacket to wear a sweatshirt over my clothing, but I couldn't see myself wearing a ton of layers underneath. The coat is definitely not uncomfortably small for me, but if you're like me and have always had roomier winter coats, this will take a little getting used to.That being said, I doubt I'd need to wear a ton of layers underneath it. While I haven't worn the jacket extensively yet, it has pleasantly surprised me so far with how warm it is. I'm not sweltering in it like other reviewers (because I'm one of those people who is always cold) but, on my walks to and from work every day, my upper body is never cold. I haven't tested the "waterproofness" of the jacket, but I can definitely say that it's windproof. The coat is made out of a heavy-duty material and really takes the bite out of the wind. And the hood is a nice size that doesn't completely block your vision but also doesn't fall down easily.Aside from the coat being slightly more snug than I expected (but, again, not in a completely uncomfortable way that would make me think about returning it), my only other small complaint about the jacket is that I have a restricted range of motion while wearing it. Because the material is on the heavier/denser side, it doesn't allow me to move as freely as I'd like. It's difficult to put on or fix my winter hat once I have the coat on because I have a hard time lifting my arms over my head. And slinging my gym bag over my shoulder took a few attempts (both because of the slight stiffness of the material and because the hood got in the way). But I'm hoping that, over time, the material will relax a bit.All in all, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I was a little wary buying a winter coat for myself without having tried it on first (because I normally have bad luck with internet sizing and a lot of reviews/questions weren't helpful in trying to determine my size), but this coat fit almost exactly how I thought it would. And for the price (and the style you get for that price), it's hard to beat.

Canadian winter approved
Canadian here, first time trying out this jacket since we got a day with our deep winter average temperatures: -8C with a wind chill which makes it feel like -14C. I was out walking for about an hour, this jacket kept me very warm, so warm I was sweating s little.I'm 5ft tall 112lbs and got the small. 32, 27, 34. The fit is perfect not too tight but not loose. don't use the Amazon chart for sizing use the one provided by the seller in product description.Like many people, I didn't like the badge that came with the coat, it looked a little too much like a Goose wannabe. So I sew my own badge on top. Yes I'm a Zombie movie fan.

Warmest coat I have even owned!!
I’m IN LOVE with this coat! I live in Northern Minnesota where the temp is below zero for the majority of the winter, (all 8months of it) so I needed a WARM coat. As you can imagine, I was skeptical when ordering this. When looking for a coat for Nothern MN, these are the qualities I was looking for:-heavy duty, waterproof outer shell (to cut wind and water)-removable hood (for snowmobiling)-down insulation (preferably duck)-extra room for layers (but not too bulky)This coat has all of these and more! Some added bonuses:-thumb holes in on the end of the sleeves-inside pockets-fleece lined neck-bonus outside pockets-cinch string at the bottomI am 5’9 160lbs size 9pants M-L top. I ordered a size Large because I wanted to make sure I had extra room for added layers underneath, also Mediums tend to have too short of sleeves for my freakishly long arms. This coat fits perfectly. It’s a bit bulky, but has adjustable sides that help bring the waist line in, so I don’t look like one giant poof. If you wanted less poofyness and a more fired coat, going down a size would probably give you that. It is hands down THE WARMEST coat I have ever owned. It completely cuts the wind and snow. Not once have I felt even a little chilly. This has to be the best purchase I’ve ever made on amazon. If I could give 10 starts I would.

Works great in MN winters!!! Super warm!
I am 5'7" tall, and usually wear a size 6 pants and medium/large tops and I ordered the medium (size 10-12). I was hesitant to order a medium, (I was thinking I should order a large) but I'm glad I did. I still have enough room to move around in it. It is a little snug if I where to wear a sweater with it, but that is not my intent.I bought this jacket for the Minnesota winters and to wear when I walk my dog (and I walk my dog at least 1 hour during the winter temperatures). Minnesota has had some extremely cold temperatures this year, and even colder windshields (-25 degrees), yet I'm pleased to say this jacket has kept me warm! I didn't know if this jacket could handle these types of winters, but I have not been disappointed yet. I usually only wear a long sleeve underneath my jacket. Sweatshirt on occasion. My sister has a Canadian Goose jacket (super expensive but really warm), and I would say this jacket is just as warm, if not slightly warmer. And you can't beat the price for this jacket! I would buy it again. My only complaint is that if the temperature is above 30 degrees, I'm too warm! :)

9.5/10, would buy again for my family if I could!
Perfect fit and such an awesome color! My tour guide in Iceland was wearing this color (I wasn't sure of the brand) and as soon as I got back to the hotel I went on Amazon to find it. It was such a striking and beautiful color, she stood out so nicely against the Icelandic landscape. Super good quality for such a great price (the price has rose since my order) and fast shipping, I've gotten so many compliments and it's honestly my favorite jacket right now. It's warm and the pockets are deep. Two things though, I personally wasn't a huge fan of the patch on the side but it didn't bother me too much. It just kinda reminded me of Canada Goose. Other thing, I wasn't really sure about my size until I read the previous reviews, so I recommend others to do the same. Mine fits pretty well, small enough to still see my figure but big enough to layer. (FYI, I did buy a custom patch and iron it on.)

Cozy and warm - great quality
I love this coat it is so warm and cozy. The original tags from Sears Canada were still on it. My previous coat was this brand from Sears and this new coat is of the same excellent quality. The Alpinetek coats are apparently made by Alpine North. The sizes fit slightly small compared to others, so I ordered the next size up from my old one for a bit roomier fit.

So far so good!!
So far so good!!! I received my new Jacket very quickly which made me happy. It was packaged very well to protect it from any damage during the shipping process. It hasn't been cold enough to warrant using it as of yet, but the fit is great, and it feels nice and warm so I'm very excited to use it this winter!!

Good protection from the wind and cold
This is a great shorter parka/longer ski jacket. Very warm, very comfortable. Great quality. I have the long parka, too, and love it.
