## Overview

The WEN DF475T is a robust 4750-watt dual-fuel portable generator featuring a 224cc 4-stroke engine with electric start. It offers flexible fuel options—gasoline or propane—with easy switching, supports 120V/240V output for home backup via transfer switch, and runs up to 11 hours on a 4-gallon tank. Equipped with multiple outlets and a wheel kit, it’s designed for reliable emergency power and job site versatility, backed by a 2-year warranty.

## Description

Remember when you could run your generator off either gas or propane? Whether we're providing your home electricity during a crisis or charging your family's cellphones at the campgrounds, WEN has been reliably lighting up lives since 1951. Now, with the WEN 4750-Watt Dual Fuel Electric Start Generator, you’ll be able to create power from two different sources. Simply select your preferred method, either gasoline or LPG, and power on the generator using the electric start. Propane provides the generator with 4350 surge and 3500 running watts while gasoline creates up to 4750 surge and 3800 running watts. Our packed panel features two 120V GFCI outlets (5-20R), a NEMA 30A twist lock (L14-30R), a 12V DC cigarette-lighter-style plug, and a voltage selector to switch between 120V and 240V depending on the task at hand. Run your lights, TV, refrigerator, sump pump, power tools, or other essentials with ease. The wheel and handle kit makes transportation easier than ever while the included 47-inch LPG hose allows for immediate connection to propane tanks. With its 240 volts of power and 224cc engine, this generator is the perfect companion for emergency back-up. Simply plug your transfer switch into the NEMA 30A twist lock for electricity in times of need. Fill the gas tank with up to 4 gallons of gasoline for an 11-hour half-load runtime. It’s durable enough for the job site and compact enough for easy storage. And because its a WEN product, your generator comes backed by a nationwide network of skilled service technicians, a friendly customer support phone line, and a two year. Remember when you didn’t have to worry about the power going out? Remember WEN.

Review: AMAZING PRODUCT - In our small town, we usually have several power outages during the year, particularly in the winter months after an ice storm and during the spring after severe thunderstorms. Sometimes these outages last from one to four days. I had an electrician install an interlock box with a L14 30R plug. During a power outage, I plug the WEN 475T generator into the L14 30R plug, start the generator and we have plenty of power in our entire house to run two refrigerators, a microwave, TV, computers, and every light in the house including the central heating system during the winter. During a power outage, we only have to refrain from using any appliance that requires 220W, i.e, central air conditioner, the clothes dryer, and kitchen stove and oven. Other than that, it's life as normal when the power is out; and, the WEN 475T is able to generate plenty of power. I purchased two 40lb propane bottles to power the generator. Having the option of running the 475T on propane is a huge PLUS! First, I don't have to worry about having to rely on gasoline going bad (propane will last forever); and second, even on the coldest days the 475T starts immediately. The electric start is a huge benefit! From our experience, a 40lb bottle of propane will run the 475T for almost 27-hours. Overall, we are most satisfied with the performance of this product. One suggestion; however, we opted to use the recommended 5W 30 synthetic oil in this unit to allow operation in the freezing cold to 100 degree days. Also, the WEN 475 is an extremely dependable generator that has not failed to satisfy our needs. During a power outage while our neighbors are sitting in the dark, we are able to power our entire home. UPDATE: March 2026 Now; after two years of use, this generator continues to exceed expectations. In January of this year, we had to rely on this generator during a power outage caused by an ice storm when temperatures dipped below -4 degrees. The electric start was not operational due to a dead battery caused by the bitter cold; however, with only two pulls of the rope start, this generator fired up quickly. We have used only propane to fuel this unit and it starts so quickly with very little effort. We had plenty of power from the WEN 475 for every light in the house, two refrigerators, microwave, computers, TV, and our natural gas central air home furnace to make life comfortable during the power outage. Overall, this has to be the best purchase we have ever made! Several suggestions: First, have a licensed electrician install an interlock box so this generator can power your entire house; and second, power the unit with propane over gasoline.
Review: Just what I needed! - Snow storm coming here in the south! I can probably bet there will be power outages (even though we lucked out with last September's hurricane). Best to get a generator! I looked at used units for a while, but couldn't find anything worth the people's asking price. I started looking at new, and settled on this WEN for two reasons-- 1) Sold by desertcart and it has LOTS of good reviews, only took a day to get it, and the freight was free, 2) it's a dual fuel unit. I wanted to run it off the house LP instead of having to keep a gasoline can full and fresh. Plus, running it off the house means we're unlikely to ever run out of fuel! The power it produces will supply our home for everything but heat and AC. We have LP heaters, so that's not a problem, and the generator makes enough power to run a portable AC, if needed. We are connecting the unit to our home panel to make things far easier in an emergency. This guy started RIGHT up first try, ran great! After running for about 5 minutes, I hooked up two hairdryers (3000 watts max) to check it out, and it handled them without a fuss. Note the green funnel thing I had to use to add the engine oil. This too is available from desertcart and was a life-saver, as not one of my other funnels could reach properly to do the job! The generator is pretty quiet and smooth. It is a very nice unit, and I'm GLAD I didn't pay $300.00 for someone else's used problem!

**Q: Can I run a 220 V welder with this generator**
A: As long as your welder DOES NOT REQUIRE MORE THAN 30 Amps at 220v.

**Q: Does it come with a propane hose**
A: Yes it comes with a propane hose

**Q: Can you attach a noise silencer to the muffler to the generator ?**
A: I bought one.
I also got the 20 foot extension so that I can run it from a distance with no chance of carbon monoxide poisoning.
It runs pretty quietly.
When I run it, I cannot hear it in the house much.
There is no need to put a muffler on it.
It starts right up, push button.
I love the thing.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to prep, fired right up
*by N***E on November 3, 2022*

I ordered this generator to replace my 40 year old Coleman Powermate 4000 generator. Amazon delivered it this morning. It was easy to set up. The negative cable on the battery is not connected when shipped. Connect that first before installing the wheel in front of the battery. The two red shipping brackets required some effort to remove. The bolts were put on way too tight. Another reviewer also mentioned that. If you can tilt the unit sideway, it would be easier to loosen the bolts from underneath. After removing the shipping brackets, just empty the included bottle of 20.3 fl oz motor oil into the engine. A long nose funnel is needed. One with a flex extension is even better to fill the oil. I only tested it with propane. I have no intension of using gasoline with it. It is much less maintenance using propane. No more gummed up carburetor, and stale gas, when you need the generator the most. Propane lasts forever in the tank. Hooked up the tank, turned the key, set the choke. It started right up. It is quieter than my old Coleman Powermate. I measured the voltage and frequency. It was right at 120V +/- a couple. Frequency was at 60 Hz +/- a couple also, depending on the load I plugged in. I tested it with a 1,500W heater. I was surprised that when I switched the 120V/240V switch to 240V. The 120V outlets had no power. I thought 120V would always be present on the 120V outlet, thinking the 120V/240V switching is for the L14-30R outlet only. Checking the wiring diagram in the manual confirmed that the hot legs on the 120V receptacles are disconnected from the power source when the 120V/240V switch is switched to 240V. A minor issue. Just have to be aware when this generator is plugged into the house's transfer switch to feed the 240V panel, its two 120V outlets are off. I am ready for winter. Just need to fill up a couple of tanks of propane.
