It's stitched and glued to the leather but it came off easily. I left the leather part on the bag. **Q: Can the water bottle pockets fit a metal reusable water bottle (Klean Kanteen 27 oz or similar)? Thanks!** A: I am able to fit my 27oz Klean Kanteen bottle (non-insulated) into the side pockets. An insulated 12oz or 16oz Klean Kanteen also fits. It's a snug fit which each type but doable.
