I bought this as a gift for my husband to replace the old lava rock that didn't heat. We have hot days and cool nights and want to use the firepit to warm us (not just for "show"). After much research I learned that this brand is the "safest" in fire glass. These glass chips are polished and won't cut you, and they allow the gas and fire to escape instead of building up. Whoa. That was the clinching seller right there. Other fire glass actually will cause the heat to stay in the bottom of the pit and become dangerous for the propane tank!Besides, the color is awesome with our black-top fire pit table.
