The recipient of a tea cup collection, she crafted five unique stories that involved the individual cups and saucers. Each story is a page-turner and quite addictive. Moody had me hooked when the package of vintage tea cups arrived via UPS. As the main character, Lucy, is struggling through a serious case of writer's block, those precious cups were just what she needed to create a series of stories.Each book in the series tells a unique story, each involving a different teacup. And, just as Diane Moody planned, I couldn't stop after just one book, but found myself in love with this series of stories. A totally charming set of novellas with love, friendship, and life lessons that draw the reader into the plot. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Romantic Series *by T***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2015* This is a delightful collection of the series originally published separately. Each on can be read as a stand-alone, but they’re better read in sequence. Here is what I thought about them:Tea with Emma - 5Lucy gets a package from her aunt's estate. She's inherited her aunt's gorgeous array of delicate teacups and saucers. She likes to get packages, because that brings the friendly, good-looking UPS guy. Lucy is a writer, who's been stuck without a story to tell with a deadline looming. The cups give her inspiration, and she begins to write Maddie's story. Maddie comes back to Austin, Texas, from England with her best friend Lanie. Maddie is determined to open an English tearoom and help those around her find love. Opening the tearoom goes well, but her matchmaking abilities just leaves chaos. She realizes only God can straighten out the mess she's made. Might He also send her a love-interest?Strike the Match - 4Going to a prestigious university in New York to study journalism cost much more than Keri McMillan thought, so, after two years, she comes back home to work for her dad's construction company in Oregon. When his latest project burns to the ground, she discovers he's near bankruptcy. Grant Dawson is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, so Keri can't understand why he chose to leave Los Angles to run the little Waterford Weekly. After the fire, he hires her as a reporter, and gives her the assignment of finding the arsonist.I didn't like this novella quite as much as I did the first one in this series, TEA WITH EMMA. Keri was too self-centered, prickly, mouthy, and hard. I knew who was setting the fires from the first time he came into the picture, but this only made me feel good, and didn't detract from the story. STRIKE THE MATCH left too many questions unanswered. We don't even know if Keri's dad is able to weather his financial storm or if she'll finish her degree or stay in Waterford. This one should have been longer and really finished. It almost appeared as if the author became tired of it too soon.Home to Walnut Ridge - 4Tracey Collins comes home to Tennessee, when the senator she believed in and worked so hard for in Washington, D.C. starts pressuring her for an intimate relationship, and she can tell no one there for fear of destroying Amanda, her best friend and the senator's wife. A lot of things have changed at home, but one thing hasn't. Deacon Stone is still as vindictive and conniving as ever, and he's long held a grudge against the Collins family. Her dad has gathered a group of misfits to do needed work around the community, and one of them is running from the accident that killed his wife. Tracey feels drawn to him, but is he too broken to ever be healed?This is a very good story, but it is almost too shallow. The characters never developed to the point I became invested and involved with them. I was interested to see what happened, but I was left feeling uncertain. Even though there's a good ending, I felt Noah's problems were not really resolved and needed a stronger resolution. I didn't really feel connected with Tracey, and therefore she seemed rather one-dimensional and flat. I don't regret reading it, but it could have been so much more with just a little additional work.At Legend’s End - 5Olivia Thomas, a loan officer in her forties, finds that compassion really does pay. A man she loaned start-up capital for his business when no one else would has made it big and gifts her five million dollars. She decides to take a long vacation to make plans about what she wants to do, and her best friend suggests she go to Caden Cove, Maine. It’s a quaint little town on the coast, filled with tourists in the summer but not many in the winter. Much to her surprise, Olivia is enthralled with the place, especially with the often grumpy bookseller. When she learns of the legend associated with the B & B where she's staying, she shrugs it off, but then, she wonders if the curse may have found her after all.The first of the book seemed very slow to me, and I couldn't get involved. I didn't begin to really care about Olivia until she starts sparring with Trevor. Then the novella took off for me and became a page-turner. It was wonderful. I’m really looking forward to the next one in the series now, although the romance the author is having with the UPS man is getting a little redundant and needs some new life.A Christmas Peril - 5Mark Christopher was taken hostage on his UPS run and ended up in a hospital in a coma right before Christmas. Lucy Alexander is devastated. She knows she’s fallen in love with him. While she’s waiting by Mark’s bedside, her cousin sends her Aunt Lucille’s diary, which recounts when her love, Gary Reynolds, is hit on the head with a gun while trying to rescue an older lady. He also ends up in the hospital in a coma just before Christmas.I have read the other Teacup novellas, but I never felt a connection with Lucy and Mark before. Their snippets were too short in the other novellas. Here they came alive. I like the parallel stories of Lucille and Gary in the past and Lucy and Mark in the present, although they were so similar that they did tend to run together in my mind at times. I still found the book drew me and held me. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful Memories, Stories and Romance *by W***N on Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2021* I'm in love with being in love, and this collection was everything I hoped for. The thread that tied the stories together was brilliant- an author with a collection of teacups which inspired numerous stories. Each story is believable with great dialogs and descriptions. The ending almost made me cry and then rejoice with Lucy and Mark. A truly wonderful Christmas story.
