Safety buoy was a required item and this one did the trick. No bell or whistles and manual inflation but it's solid and dependable.

A little bulky compared to the plastic "sausages" I've used in the past, but nothing noticeable when tucked away in my BCD pocket. Inflates easily and quickly, either orally or using your tank. The highlight for me is the attached clip, considering I've littered several bodies of water with my previous SMBs that I would notoriously lose! Based on others' reports of color bleed, I did soak this marker before diving with it. After 6 dives, I've had no sign of bleed on my BC or any other items sharing the same pocket.

Was in Cozumel and used this while I was on my drift dives. It seemed like I was one of the few people to have my own on me but I figure may as well have it because the one the guide sent up was not standing out of the water and by the time I had gotten near it I probably would have ended up tangled in the line. This works very easily and I just kept it clipped on to my BCD during the dive. When I broke the surface I undid it and inflated. My main issue is it can be a bit of a pain to inflate and deflate. The spring that seals the valve shut is a little on the strong side but since I only end up using it a couple times a day and a few days out of the year I am not going to knock off for that. Not to mention that this works the same as the ones that cost more anyway.

If you need one, esp in CA, this should fit the bill. Be advised that it is manual blow up/inflate. It folds up nicely and has a plastic clip that will hook up to your BCD. This is a no frills, good enough safety equipment.

Easy to use and packs away just as easily.

Seems to be a good durable product as advertised, but you will need to add a surprising amount of weight for it to float vertically against even minor wind/seas. Small enough internal volume that it easy to inflate by blowing into it. If your respiratory function cant handle that then you probably shouldn't be in the water anyway. Might be a good pre-dive check out for guests...."here, blow this up".

Good for the price. It should be used as very low and far last resort alternative to your main high quality SMB or maybe the last spare unit that can be fit due to its small size
