It's Impossible/And I Love You So

Growing up with Mr. C
When I was a child in the 1950s, my parents always watched the weeky Perry Como TV variety show. Even though I was starting to move into the music of my generation, I was fond of Perry and learned to appreciate just how great a singer he was. So, here I was, listening to Elvis and Perry at the same time! I continued to admire him and buy his records and watch his show whenever it was on, especially his Christmas shows over the years. He was truly one of the great masters of song and knew how to project meaning and substance into a song, particularly love songs. His voice was mellow yet strong and he had a range that few today could understand. It's geat to have his records put onto CD so that we can listen to the richness of his voice in the clarity new technology has to offer. These two albums are no less than magnificent and I will surely enjoy them over and over again!

sounded like it was recorded yesterday!
I've always been a Perry Como fan. (In fact, when I was a teen, I was president of a Perry Como Fan Club). This recording is great, especially "It's Impossible".

Surprisingly Great Albums
If you're a fan of Perry Como's golden age, these albums might not exactly be your style. But what they really showcase is just how broad his talent was -- His version of "Killing Me Softly" is the best version ever of that song, and other standout tracks between these two records include For the Good Times, I Want to Give, It All Seems to Fall Into Line, and surprisingly, Something.Perry Como is probably the single most underrated vocalist of that era. While there are better albums for getting a sample of his sound, this represents a part of his career that you won't want to miss.

Forever Perry Como
I am so glad I purchased this CD. Perry Como has always been one of the finest singers from the USA. From It's Impossible to And I love you so, Perry proved he was still a viable and likeable singer in the rockin, dancin, Disco 70's. His version of We only just begun and Close to you will make you forget the Carpenters. He covers many of the songs from that era in his soft casual manner, and you will sing along with him too.Perry is a part of our lives from season to season and all the holidays. You will really enjoy him as an aging crooner who can still sing and bring joy to your life. We all truly lost one of the great ones May 12, 2001, but his voice and songs live on and on.

Perfect moments
My wife and I recently built our retirement home in the foothills. Our upstairs bedroom looks across our balcony at the horse pasture across the arroyo. Perfect moments are those early mornings or late evenings when we recline against the headboard of our bed, enjoy the fire in our fireplace, ... and listen to CD's like this. Rock on, Young Folks! We did when we were your age. But, Lord, thank you for music like this that gives us such perfect moments at this stage of our lives.
