Love this product. and was delighted to see Amazon carried this product. Stores don’t seem to carry this product.

I ordered a package of 3 eyebrow pencils, and received a package of 2. It even stated that it was a package of 3 before I ordered it. Still paid the same price for 2. Not happy. Now it says, product is discontinued...yeah right. Didn't get any kind of refund on the amount paid for 3.

I have been trying to use these pencils for many years because I like the way the go on lightly. However, they are useless after a very few uses because they are impossible to sharpen. I have tied maybelline sharpeners and an array of expensive and cheap sharpeners. Always the colored part breaks off before it is sharp and it break off down within the wooden part, leaving a hole. This indicates that it had a hollow spot in the first place. You keep trying to sharpen it and the same think happens until it is a nub.I've tried sharpening in different temperatures. If it is too warm, i.e. summer, that doesn't work at all (and never leave in the car as it will melt). Putting it in the refrigerator seems to work the best.Sometimes, you can get it to a point but then it leaves a long sliver of wood along your point so it is still useless.Bottom line: Nice pencil but don't plan on sharpening it more than a mininimal amount of times.

Okay, I was hoping to write a terrific review on how much I love these eyebrow pencils. I'm not. Maybe it is just this batch, but the 2 each-packages each containing 2 pencils each, were old. The light brown Maybelline eye brow pencils arrived "looking normal," but I literally could not pull off the pointed cover on either one of them in spite of applying much strength. This was so ridiculous it made me laugh. And no, there was no plastic seal on the pencils to cut off first. Eyebrow pencil or liner tops should not need to be pried off, right? Not giving up, I carefully "wiggled" the sharp end of a small pair of grooming scissors slightly underneath one lid side, and repeated this on the other sides. I can't overemphasize how hard it was to penetrate the lid underneath with the scissor blade. I was hoping to loosen the top. By now the pencil itself looked as if a woodpecker had attacked it, caused by the scissor tip slipping a few times. Better that than my fingers. Even when it worked, the tops didn't easily slide off--- I still had to yank them off. The eyebrow pencil is the right color, but even with smooth makeup on, it was too dry to work correctly. The application was rough because the pencil is dried up. I am so disappointed and too weary to send this back, so I'm losing over $15. That's my fault. I'm not sure, but maybe Maybelline stopped making this specific product a long time ago but this seller still sells it. They should not. It should live in the Smithsonian Institute--not in my cosmetic drawer. Or again, maybe this was a bad batch. I'm entitled to a refund but this one time I'm taking the loss and tossing both packages out. But I write this to warn you. Stuff this dried up should not be applied to our skin---scary. Also, I do not recommend trying to loosen the tops with scissors like I did. It's just an accident waiting to happen, but I managed to avoid a cut.

Hahahaha, I should have taken heed of the other reviews, hahaha, this is not the light brown that I used for over 20 years. I stopped wearing makeup regularly (ok, pretty much at all) after I had kids, and imagine my shock when I applied my old favorite that my mother and grandmother used. I looked like the little old lady with the too dark lipliner and dark rosy cheeks! It’s now more of a not so subtle orange, which doesn’t work for me at all. So please even thought this eye pencil is super cheap, do yourself a favor and spend that money on a bottle of water instead. To be crystal clear, it’s not light brown…
