So far so good!
I had a set of melamine bowls, which I really liked, but gradually they all broke over a year or two and I was left with only the smallest most useless mixing bowl :(. I went in search of new mixing bowls. I wanted a set that would last me a lifetime and some friends encouraged me to consider stainless steel.I found that in most mixing bowl sets, the largest bowl is between 3.5-5 quarts in size. This is not quite big enough for some of my mixing needs, so this set, with it's big bowls, was quite attractive at $25 w/ free shipping. The 13 quart bowl is REALLY big, which I don't mind at all and plan to use for mixing a gigantic batch of stuffing at Thanksgiving. However, it may be a negative for some if you don't have the cupboard space--I recommend you get out a measuring tape and figure out if this will fit in your kitchen before you buy. When I received them, I noticed they were very lightweight, which some people might consider a negative. Personally, I like that they're sturdy, but lightweight. When mixing big batches of heavy ingredients I find a lightweight bowl to be a plus.At first, I wasn't sure I was going to like a bowl with sides at such an angle (my old set had sides that were more vertical). I've been pleasantly surprised that I prefer these sides. For example, when I make pancakes I can get the bowl super close to my griddle so that the side top overlaps the griddle and I never get any drips on my stove top anymore. The stainless steel is thin, so they fit in my dishwasher easily, although, I tend to hand wash them because they take up so much space. The bottom of the bowls are stamped with "Next Day Gourmet" and "Made in India." I've been very happy with my choice in mixing bowls and, for my needs, give them 5 stars.PS Like the description says, the set contains 4 bowls (unlike the second product photo).

Glad I bought these
I went back and forth trying to decide whether to buy these or the "heavyweight" versions. I eventually settled on these, and I'm glad I did.Even though they're lightweight, they're still perfectly good bowls, and come in a useful range of sizes. Keep in mind the 13-qt is a pretty big bowl, so finding a place to store it may be something to think about. The one thing I don't like about them is because they are the "lightweight" version, the bottoms strike me a little bit cheap. They sort of "pop" in and out (only slightly). Functionally, that makes no difference, and I don't think it makes them any less reliable (it would be many, many years (if ever) before it actually failed), but it does strike me as sort of cheap. But, I'm not a professional, and for the money I saved over the "heavyweight" version, it's fine with me. If that's going to bother you, though, go with the heavyweight.

Disappointed
These bowls don't feel flimsy to me, but as mentioned in other reviews they arrive with small dents. I don't think that detracts from their usefulness at all, though. The problem I have is that what I received was a mismatched set. ChefLand makes several sets of stainless steel bowls of various shapes. The ones I received don't nest as those shown in the picture, the second largest bowl is tall and narrow while the others are as pictured, shallow and wide. Because of this the second largest bowl sticks up much higher, and the bowl inside of it doesn't rest on the bottom of that bowl but on the sides. Very difficult to get out, I literally have to push it around until I can get one side up high enough to grab it. I purchased a set so I could store them together, very disappointed.I would love to have what is in the picture, but I won't order another set not knowing what I will receive. These appear to be seconds. One note, these bowls have labels glued to the bottoms. Some might have a problem with that but if you know how to remove them it really isn't. First peel the label off as well as you can. After that just take a small amount of cooking oil and rub it on the residue that is left. It should come right off and you can wash them and they are ready to use.

The Right Bowls for the Job!
I actually bought these bowls to use in building a composting toilet, but that idea got put on the back burner. In the meantime, I was making some batter in one of my glass bowls using an electric mixer. While the cookies were baking, I was washing the bowl when I noticed that several pieces of glass had chipped off the inside edge of the bowl. My entire batch of cookies went straight into the trash. Not wanting to make that mistake again, I pulled out these bowls to use whenever I'm going to use my electric mixer. I'm very happy with the quality of them. They're deep enough to keep all of my batter inside. Light enough to carry in one hand while full of batter and strong enough to stand up to my mixer. I really like having multiple sizes also.My bowls came without any dents or scratches and have stood up to my heavy usage very well. I'm happy with them!

Great bowls
These bowls are just what I needed. They arrived well packed and in perfect condition. Other reviews have stated they seem cheap, I disagree. They are lightweight, which I prefer, but they are sturdy. I find the angle of the bowls to be just right, they don't tip over during use and the lip on the bowl makes handling easy.I have used all the bowls but am exceptionally happy with the 13 quart. Today I used it to make meatloaf. The shape and weight made it easy to blend all the ingredients. I will say that it is a VERY large bowl so be warned if storage is an issue. All in all, for $25-$30 and free shipping, this set of 4 bowls is worth every penny.

Good set of bowls, correction to bowl dimension
These are a good set of bowls, but the height for the 8 qt bowl is not the 4 1/8" as described, but in fact 5". This makes it taller than the 13 qt bowl so it's not so pretty and orderly when you nest them. If this won't bother you, I recommend these bowls. Just pay attention to how very large the 13 qt bowl is, at over 16" across (including the rim).
