Rick Steves' Europe, Italy

THIS WAS A MOST USEFUL AND NEEDED BOOK TO HELP ME NAVIGATE THE ENORMOUS CHOICES OF THINGS I WANTED TO SEE IN ITALY -- COVERED ALL THE MAIN CITIES OF MY TRAVELS. I FOUND THE VISUAL GUIDE MOST HELPFUL TO VIEW BEFORE MY TRIP A FEW TIMES. I GOT PRE-ACQUAINTED WITH MY SOON-TO-BE DESTINATIONS. I PARTICULARLY LIKED RICK'S "SIDE TRIP" SUGGESTIONS, SUCH AS ACROSS THE RIVER IN ROME TO SEE SMALLER, MORE INTIMATE PLACES. I ALSO PURCHASED RICK'S BOOK ON ITALY TO REVIEW AS I TRAVEL. DON'T KNOW WHAT I'D DO WITHOUT ALL HIS KNOWLEDGE. SUCH A ENJOYABLE TEACHER--WISH HE COULD TRAVEL WITH ME IN PERSON!!!

this doesn't say 4K but I have a 4K TV & a 4K DVD player that says it uplifts to 4K, I have to admit that it looks like it was filmed in 4K, at least the Blue Ray cuts do, but it all looks very good on my TV.

We rarely go on vacation, and were planning to go to Italy. Working on a lot, needed to make best use of the time we had to prepare. This was a good way to get a feel for different areas we might want to go, and what we might want to do while there. Not really being a TV-watcher, it also gave me a good feel for what RIck Steves likes. This allowed me to interpret his advice better, so I could figure out what his comments about a place might mean for how much I would like it.

Good as always! Rick is pleasant and is a good representative of Americans abroad--a goodwill ambassador par excellence. He combines well-known sites with gems off the beaten path. His practical tips for travelers are of the utmost value. This disk, as well as his others, are watchable over and over.

This DVD really gave a lot of good info...I also have the Rick Steves book , which I will carry with me, but I learned a lot about the history of Rome....Florence...Venice which gave me a greater appreciation of the cities & artwork....I feel more prepared for my trip in Sept

Wish I could say I watched this video to the end but Rick is too nice and didn't hold my attention from other distractions. We love his books, their info, and his website but his videos could use a little more oomph. If you have time and a DVR, you can catch many of his shows on PBS.

Rick Steve's is always top shelf. We have used several of his books for travel guide over the past 10 years. The HD video is very well done and lures you to watch over and over.

Bought this AFTER I returned from Italy. Wish I had watched it BEFORE. Would have done a lot of things differently. Still and all LOVE IT!!!!!

Good DVD. It is a bit repetitive.

When I ordered this DVD I had concerns that it would not play in the UK. I need not have worried because although the packaging said NTSC it played fine as it was Multi-Region. Regarding the content of the DVD/BluRay - it's brilliant. I am fond of art in all forms and Italy is at the front of the display when it comes to art. These DVD's are not just for the tourist, but it's fantastic to see the beauty of Italy in BluRay when it's upscaled to a 4K television. It's like being there. The half hour programs take you around cities, ruins, galleries and much more. If ordering from the UK though do be aware that my DVD and Blu Ray came from the US and took about three to four weeks to arrive. You will not be disappointed though...
