When I received my machine there was a slight glitch. I contacted customer service at Whynter and they took care of it ASAP. So right there I gave them 5 stars. The machine is awesome. It runs great and makes good ice cream. There's really no mess involved. Its easy to keep clean and it doesn't make any messes. It's very easy to use and the recipes are easy to follow too. Ice cream quality was good. When it was done making the ice cream it tasted great. Then I put the extra in an ice cream container covering the top with plastic then the lid to freeze it and the next day it was still a nice flavor and texture. One thing they could work on would be the mixing component every once in awile it would stop mixing because the ice cream would be to hard for the paddle to turn. That's when I would stop the machine and call it done. It usually would happen with a small batch of ice cream in about 30 minutes or so. A good solid well built machine.

Turned coconut milk, no less--spouse is lacto-intolerant--into the freshest, most flavorful, "ice cream" ever. Hard to believe it's dessert! Remarkably simple to operate: 3 ingredients, milk, sugar, vanilla. We prefer adding fresh fruit afterwards. (The vanilla topped with fresh fruit, craisins, and granola is to die for.) Takes 35 minutes, from start to finish. Mix while serving meal. Return and ice cream is ready. For longer meals, there's a timer for auto shutoff, and the compressor will keep its (large) cache cold for 30 minutes (default). Clean up is a breeze. Previously we could be considered only occasional ice cream consumers. However, this product has turned up the heat; we've been having every night and feeling great about it.

I bought this for a gift for my daughter and she loves it. We tried this one and another brand side by side and this one worked faster and froze the ice cream better. It is easy to use, and simple to clean. I would totally recommend. We make ice cream a lot more often now because it’s so quick and easy. It shuts off by itself when the ice cream is done. It makes about 2 quarts of ice cream. For larger groups, just make it ahead and put it in the freezer. It stays pretty scoopable.

Machine is sleek, easy to use and makes a Great ice cream! The only reason for a 4 is because it takes very very long for the ice cream to firm up to be a regular soft serve. It took about an hour and ten minutes per 2 quart batch. I made great vanilla and coffee batches back to back and machine did not get hot or overworked. Great motor and stayed consistent with its cooling.

Like a lot of people my husband and I love ice cream. Years ago we had a compressor ice cream maker and enjoyed it very much. It lasted years, however, when it died we didn’t replace it until now. This unit did not disappoint. As a matter of fact it worked well beyond our expectations. I made our first batch of ice cream with it today and we were very impressed at how fast it made the ice cream. It took only an hour for it to get to the correct consistency. I also love that it comes with a recipe book with a wide variety of recipes. We used our own recipe for our first batch but I plan on making some of the recipes for the book very soon. We are so happy that we purchased this ice cream maker. There is nothing better than homemade ice cream and the cost of making our own ice cream is less expensive than buying store bought and the taste is so much better. This machine will pay for itself in less than a year.

We're actually saving money in the long run by making our own organic ice cream instead of buying the expensive store-bought versions. Plus, the joy of creating our own flavors and knowing exactly what goes into our desserts is priceless. If you're frustrated with the cost and limited options of high-quality, organic ice cream, I highly recommend giving this Whynter model a try. It's opened up a whole new world of dessert possibilities for us, and I'm excited to keep experimenting with new flavors and ingredients. A couple of small nitpicks: I do wish the paddle was metal instead of the current material. It would be a nice upgrade for durability and performance. Also our unit did not include an ice cream scoop. Despite these minor points, I'm still thoroughly impressed with this machine. In short, this ice cream maker has been a fantastic addition to our kitchen. After almost a decade of using the freezer bowl style of ice cream maker, this machine is a delight. Heavy and bulky (as expected for something with a freezing unit in it) but quiet and effective. Noticeable improvement in the quality of the final product. Easy to assemble, use, and clean. I love being able to make multiple batches at once for layered or swirled desserts. Only downside is the paddle is annoyingly shaped and hard to scrape off completely. Lots of tight corners. But I think that's the case with most modern ice cream makers.

We love this machine. While it is pricey it os well worth the cost when you consider that this machine has a compressor to chill the mixture while it is churning. No need to mess with freezing bowls or rock salt and ice. The ice cream comes out perfectly every time! Be careful when putting solid ingredients into your ice cream though, we broke a paddle on our older machine putting chocolate chips into a batch. Nbd you can order replacements from the company directly. This is a bigger machine though so make sure you have a place to store it when not in use.

I used to have a cheap ice cream maker, the one where you put the bowl in the freezer and have to wait a whole day to make ice cream and that’s if you remember to put it in. This ice cream maker is a dream! Just literally make your base, set it to ice cream and press start! We made Coconut Ice Cream. It was so good, great texture and good recipe. If you’re thinking about an ice cream maker, this one will sure not disappoint.
