Works great!
After suffering a stroke, my husband had foot drop. A brace was made for him while he was in rehab. The Velcro closing broke after awhile so there was no way to close the brace once it was on the foot. Rather than spend $400, we decided to give this a try. Works just as well as the one made for him, the only difference being it is so very much lighter!!!! Because of this, he doesn't tire as easily. So glad we purchased this!

Does the job, but awkward to put on
Does the job, but awkward to put on, and unfortunately came with zero instructions. I didn't realize the strap is supposed to go around the front (shin), so I wrapped it around the back (calf.) -yes, stupid I know), which left an extra 1-1/2" to 2" of strap, so I cut off the excess. Just today (after wearing it over a week) I realized my mistake. Yes, the picture shows the Velcro strap coming around the front. but when the device arrived I was not logged on to the product page. The device stays in place regardless of the strap being around the back, but I don't know. The biggest reason for the 2 stars is because it's awkward to put on with foot drop (I can't point my foot) since the vertical support is against the calf. My first hospital supplied AFO (Blue Rocker by Allard) had the vertical support in front, but eventually broke after I accidentally stepped on it while it was laying on its side. My next AFO (Walk-On by Ottobock) has a vertical support coming up the inside of the foot, making it easy to step into my shoe from the left (outside); However, the strap that then goes around your leg is too thick, so for my favorite pair of pants the leg won't go over it. So I'm sort of considering cutting the vertical piece off this Comfortland AFO so it's easier to put on. But then it may not provide enough support, in which case it will be ruined and I may order a new one.Edit: I ruined the first one, so I ordered a new one, but this morning the strap end that is anchored to the inside wall of the AFO pulled out of the rivet that held it. So I guess I will try to return this one for a refund.

It does the job. Have to wear an Ace bandage so that it doesn't rub against skin & "burn."

The trim job was terrible and thus it did not work well
It was a simple product to use that works. My Grandfather was charged $100s at the hospital for one very similar. The trim job was terrible and thus it did not work well. This product was easy to trim and fit to his foot for him. It is worn everyday now and he does not use the splint that he received from the Hospital.

Solid Backup
Let me make one thing clear about this brace-it's not made for long time use. I'm recovering from a stroke and have a custom made, heavy duty AFO brace. I've walking 3-5 miles/day using it and one of the spring hinges finally broke. It took a month to get a new custom brace (thanks, insurance companies!) so I decided to give this simple brace a try so I could get around while I was waiting. It looks pretty flimsy coming out of the box but I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked I also got lucky in that the Large Left Brace fit fit perfectly into my size 13 shoe so I didn't have to do any trimming. I don't recommend walking long distances in it as it will start to chafe your skin but it's a fantastic and cheap backup for me. I even bought a second one and threw it in the trunk of my car for emergencies. The brace could be greatly improved by adding a 2nd velcro strap to the ankle.
