Great looking fan with high speed!
I ordered 2 of these for my vaulted ceiling in main living room. They were installed by an electricIan in place of existing recessed lights and they look great with my mid-century modern decor. The lights are bright and I love the nickel with white blades look! I purchased the 24" rods separately since installing on a 12' ceiling height.

Wonderful fan if you get one that works.
I just purchased my 5th Symbio fan, I only have 3 rooms. Up until last week I had one good fan and 3 bad. My one good one started making clicking noises that drove my wife and I nuts at night. After taking it all apart and looking for anything that might be lose and causing the noise I gave up and called Minka, they agreed the fan was bad and to return it. So I have two that wobbled and had bearing noise problems. I have one that worked perfectly, but the light didn't work, again, an internal problem, not the actual light, and I have one that had one of the screw holes stripped for mounting the fan blade. I'm living with no light and I fixed the stripped hole. So why did I buy one more of these fans??? The Good: I just bought a new house, I need fans in all the rooms and after giving the top rated Westinghouse fans a shot, I abandoned them for the highly rated and much more expensive Minka Aire. I put two Minka's on my patio and they both worked so I figured I would use these in the 3 bedrooms. The Symbio is a DC motor fan and it's got some high-tech circuitry that calibrates and balances the fan when you first turn it on. (Turn off the power to the fan, change the switch setting in the remote, turn the power on and press and hold the stop button for a few seconds and the 5 minute calibration process begins) This is a cool feature that really works. The 5 fan blades really push a good deal of air (better than my 3 blade units outside) and it's quiet and the 6 speeds on the remote (and switch direction) make it real easy to get just the right amount of cooling from the fan.The Bad: Other than the massive quality issues that I ran into above, this is one of the harder fans to mount. This is because you need to take the 6 or so screws off the top cover to remove the cover off the motor to attach the down rod. Then to make it a bit harder, all that neat electronic stuff that makes the fan and the remote work so good is strapped to the motor and the wires are in the way I had one totally blocking my access to the pin and safety clip. Then you need to screw the rod in, but not until it's tight because the hole for the pin will be too low. So you need to get a flashlight so you can see the hole in the rod through the wires and back it out until the holes line up. Once you know what to expect it's not a big problem, but it's not like most fans that you just screw or clip the rod on top of the fan. All this would not be an issue at all if the quality was there to make this a one time deal, the problem is it's not. I think it once was, but lately I think the Chinese are flooding our markets with poor quality products and it's taking the manufacturers too long to realize what's happening. Maybe the manufacturers are not doing enough of their own quality checks, maybe the whole thing is Covid related and the people who do the checks just aren't there. I went through the same thing with Westinghouse, but they were all bad bearings in the motors... Maybe that's why I have a bit more hope at getting a good Minka...

Stylish, powerful and quiet fan
Just has this fan professionally installed into my bedroom and very pleased with the result. I had it professionally installed because I needed a net new fan electrical box put in. Fan is very powerful but very quiet, and I love that! Light is very bright and love that it is dimmable. Though not the primary light in the room (there are two bedside lamps as well), it could very well act as such.Remote is pretty simple and does what it it's supposed to do. I agree with other posts, be nicer if the remote looked nicer, but that's ok.I would definitely buy this again and recommend it to others.

Do not buy this item
Ordered first one, receiver in the fan would not work with remote. Turned on only once, after that nothing. Mounted on a vaulted ceiling, had to have electrician take back down. Returned and was sent replacement. Installed and worked for five days, now it won't turn OFF. Have to have electrician come back to turn off power to stop it, back up to vaulted ceiling to take down. Not buying this product line again. They REALLY need to fix this issue, and after talking to manufacturer, electrician was told they knew they had receiver issues. Then QUIT selling them.

Awesome upgrade
This new modern fan is awesome. It has 6 speeds. The top speed is definitely faster than the old one I had. The blades are thinner but still out perform the old one. The ability to change fan direction from the remote is a must have. Install is a bit tedious, so have some patience. I order the wall remote Minka Aire WC400 DC Wall Control , because the one that came with was just big. Make sure the DIP switches match on the wall remote to the hand remote. Works flawlessly.

Minka Symbio
Clean lines and lots of power. Well made, low noise level and remote control. Love it! I recommend this product. Only comes in one size. I picked all white to blend in rather to stand out but there are several really nice options. Any 3/4 inch down rod is compatible. If you want wall control switch you need to purchase separately from Minka otherwise works off controller only.

Excellent fan
It has been 2+ months and so far this fan is excellent! The quality, build, functionality is exceptional. The fans are solid and quiet. The controls are decent. My only complaint is the LED light is more of a spotlight directed downward rather than an ambient light. Not a dealbreaker. Otherwise, a solid buy.

Good Product
The Fan is on the expensive side compared to other fans available in the MarketSo far it has been running great but had some noise coming from the fan so had to call the installer again and had to pay him trip fee which was not pleasant. He came in and made few adjustments and it was running back to smooth.Instead of soft-light LED I wish they had put in bright white LED.I had to change my room lights because of the Fan.Runs smooth does what it needs to do.The Air flow is really as we expected.
