Can this be used to make yogurt from almond milk and coconut milk as well?

This product is not a yogurt maker. It is a yogurt strainer. It strains out the liquid so the yogurt is thicker. I make soy yogurt in a yogurt maker and then use the Euro Cuisine GY60 to strain out the liquid. The result is Greek-style yogurt. I believe it would work well for any yogurt, whether almond, coconut, or other milk derivative.

Since this is a stainless steel strainer, is this dish washer safe?

I have been using it for 9 months, every other day. It a good quality. It’s Not dishwasher safe, but I highly recommend that you wash it with water as soon as you remove the Greek yogurt from the strainer. It’s so easy. If you leave it for later, it will be challenging to clean well.

The description on this page says "each component is dishwasher safe" but the instruction booklet that comes with it says it is not. which is it?

My booklet says to use caution when washing. I wash the bowl and lid in the dishwasher, but to be safe, I hand wash the mesh strainer piece with soap and the nozzle holder on my sink. Just to help it last longer. It would probably be ok in the top rack of the dishwasher, but it easy enough to just rinse it out with soapy water.

Is the strainer dish washer safe?

Yes however it did not come up clean, I use a industrial size coffee filter in mine, saves a lot of head ache as the mesh is very fine you don't want t press hard on it to clean it. It could damage it.
