What surprised me the most was the bass response. I didn't think I would get such a nice sound from such a small device. Bluetooth connected immediately, the range was a little spotty through walls, but all I wanted was to be able to keep my phone away from where I was working with tools and making a mess so it was fine for my purposes.

It has good sound and volume. Perfect for what I need/want. It connected easy and quickly to my tablet and laptop, but I have not been able to connect to my phone (Samsung Galaxy Core Prime).

I bought this speaker and ended up using it in my old diesel (very noisy) truck. Was very surprised of the excellent sound quality and base response even at the volume levels needed to be heard over the truck noise !I haven't really checked the battery life as it is plugged into the truck for charging - only slight drawback is its a little clunky to find the black-on-black logo for the power and press it in for the 2-3 seconds required to power it on or off.

Directions were impossible to read and can’t get it to work. Worked once and only lasted about an hour. Never got it to operate again after I charged it. Very disappointing.

This little speaker sounded great, and I honestly couldn’t believe it was only $20...for 2 hours.It will not stay powered on now. It turns itself off after 30 secs or so even with a full battery charge. I contacted customer service via email on their website but have yet to get a response. Will be returning and replacing with a JBL Go 2.

Not sure how they determined this unit is 8 watts. I did side by side tests with a 3 watt, a 5 watt and this unit using a decibel meter. This unit was more like my 3 watt unit, and my 5 watt unit was clearly louder with better bass. I was really looking forward to this unit because it's the first 8 watt unit I've seen at this size. Also, the location of the controls located on the curved part of the bottom is awkward. And to make matters worse, the icon identifiers for those controls are molded into the curved black area, such that you literally can NOT see them. Poor design concept.12/11/20 UPDATE: I recently retested this unit and it sounded louder than I remembered. Somewhat louder than my 5 watt. Perhaps the input volume from the device I was using was not at a full setting. My apology. But the comments re: the controls still applies. I've upped my original review one star. However, this speaker is currently "unavailable."

Fantastic little speaker. Charges quickly, very reasonable range from transmitter. HUGE sound. I was very impressed. Control buttons a little hard to find in the dark.

This was a gift to my husband .He is very happy with the sound and volume you are able to get the device really good .He uses his smart phone to lesson to music .
