Gaun Chicken Waterer with Legs

Great waterer for my five hens
I have five hens and bought this waterer because I bought a new coop and wanted to try something different. My old waterer was hand-made and used waterer cups. Although I knew I was buying a 8-liter waterer, it still was larger than I anticipated--completely my fault for not thinking, but I have plenty of room for it. My problem isn't with the waterer, but rather my chickens. Even though I use the legs to raise the waterer off the ground, they still foul the water with grass, dirt, feathers, leaves, etc. I don't know how they do it! Sometimes I will just dump the water in the bottom out and let it refill, but that means I have to refill it every other day. If it weren't for that, I think it would last four days for my five hens.It is quite sturdy on its three legs, but if it gets close to being empty, the chickens will tip it over. I've never had a problem carrying it by the handle, although I usually only fill it up 2/3 of the way. The bottom always snaps securely in place but is easy to remove when the time comes to refill.UPDATE: Tired of my messy chickens, I began hanging this waterer in my coop. I easily removed the legs and now use a carabiner to hang it from the roof. I usually fill it 3/4 full and have never had a problem with the handle not holding up.I couldn't train my chickens to be neater, so I just raised the waterer so that they can't mess it up any longer.

Got it to try to keep the water clean- chickens are messy!
So I got this waterer mainly because it is elevated of the ground. My chicks made a mess in their waterer while in the brooder, so I thought this would be great. I have a 110 gallon stock tank I was keeping them in. Well this waterer is BIG! I would have taken a quarter of their space, so I got a raised, plastic, grated stand to put their water on. That was great. So now I figured I would use this waterer put in the coop. After using it for awhile now, I have to say this water has ended up being one of my better waterer purchases.

I love the size
I love the size, but the handles keep breaking off because of the weight of the unit when full. Otherwise, they have worked out fine.

Great affordable waterer
I really like this waterer. The built in removable legs are really nice. It's a good size for floating frozen bottles in it. The only drawback that I can see is the handle is plastic and not metal.

Water stays mostly clean and doesn’t tip
Keeps most of the dirt out of the water. Very hard to knock over.
