Magic Fluke Co Flea Designer Surf Concert Ukulele

Reviews were quite good for this item but there were not so many so I was a bit apprehensive when ordering but I did wind up liking this thing a lot. You can get a traditional uke that sounds as good for about a third less but the premium you pay for this one gets you a US made, very durable and quite unique instrument. So, if those things matter to you this is worth spending a few more bucks on. Except for the neck back this is not a wooden instrument - which makes it more kid proof, travel worthy and to some extent element proof. The molded plastic fret board and the non sealed tuners concerned me when I ordered, especially since the manufacturer offers upgrades for each but they both wound up working acceptably well as supplied . Comes with D'addario strings, similar to but perhaps not quite the equal of Aquila's. Fret board is a wee bit wider that most concert ukes. I like that. Concert size is just big enough to play comfortably and just small enough to tote around easily. If all you want is a good sounding uke for indoor use you can pay less but if uniqueness, durability and/or resistance to elements matter then this is a good choice.

I love my Flea. Very happy overall with my new Ukulele. A bit disappointed with Gear Tree. At the time I ordered, a gear bag included in the price was not an option, but now 5 days later it is. So be careful when ordering and get the one with the included gear bag if you want it.
