This item did warm my tea the first day I tried it on the blue "cooler" setting and the temperature was fine. BUT, the very next day I tried it on the red "hotter" setting and it never heated up at all and I could no longer put it on either temperature settings. The red and blue lights would blink forever and never warm up.Pros: Flat top, can fit a variety of sized cups- Easy to clean- Heated up very well (the one time it did),Cons: Only worked once, so, reliability- The instruction "manual" was not accurate and not complete. It mentions Green for cooler heating, but it is Blue- no big deal with that, but it has no instructions or troubleshooting on how to stop the temperature lights from blinking and actually kick on and work.

It takes me ages to finish a cup of my specialty coffee as I only allow myself one a day and I like to savor it. That fact doesn't play well with my desire to not drink cold coffee. I've tried a few different warmers over the years and this is by far my favorite. Sleek, petite, and yet still powerful, the two different (touch!) settings allow me to maintain the perfect level of heat. I always put a coaster above (to prevent a film from forming on the top of the coffee and keep the heat in), and set it to high at first. Then as I wend my lazy way to finishing, I lower the setting and occasionally put a little cardboard coaster between the cup and warmer to get exactly the right temp. So sure, I have OCD tendencies; but MAN this little device makes keeping the perfect cup easy. The auto shut off is comforting as well. Does exactly what you want it to do, stylishly.

I ordered the standard version with four hour shut off but received the upgraded sensor model which means the red light blinks in stand-by mode until you set a container on the surface. I tried several candles in flat bottomed glass containers and none of them registered. I also tried a full 12 oz bone china cup and a 16 oz ceramic mug and neither registered. A full 16 oz corning-ware dish (lunch) finally registered and the light stopped blinking. Gave it three stars because it does heat well and the safety features definitely work.Update: Placing containers firmly and almost on top of the on/off seems to work. It still takes a few attempts for some items to register.

I'm really pleased! I ordered this coffee warmer a few weeks ago and it finally arrived, yay! The only problem was I couldn't get it to work it was a flashing light that kept going on and off I couldn't make it stop so I wanted to return it and wrote to the customer service. Wang was very friendly and assisted me and gave me options that they would send me a free replacement of another model or the same model. So I was giving my address and was informed by wearing the development department said check one more thing as a solution and I did which apparently took the device off of sleep mode! I thought I had tried that before but apparently I did not so now my coffee warmer is working perfectly. I would recommend.

Hate to write a negative review, but after trying to use it for the better part of a year I have to recommend not buying this product. The key feature of this mug warmer that made it stand out from the rest was the 'smart sense' surface that will only allow the surface to turn on, and stay on, if a mug is sitting on top of the warmer and assumedly applying pressure, thereby avoiding accidentally leaving it on or causing burns to unsuspecting victims. Unfortunately, in its effort to be ultra-safe the warmer is way too UNsensitive; most of the mugs I own, even when filled to the brim with coffee, fail to trigger the warmer's sensor, causing it to refuse to warm up and stay on. I've noticed that the only mugs that do trigger the sensor are those with a completely flat, flush bottom; however, the majority of ceramic mugs have a hollow or raised bottom, which make it very difficult for the warmer to detect. I've spent far too much time fidgeting with the warmer in the mornings, shifting my mug around on its surface, hoping that it triggers the sensor to stay on. When I finally do find that special position, I'm then discouraged from actually drinking from my mug less I can't find the spot again. 2/5, would not recommend

Of the hundreds of coffee warmers on Amazon (!) this one had all four of my requirements: [1] well made [2] auto shut-off [3] temperature control [4] flat top surface. I've had coffee warmers before but not for awhile; my old ones had the surface indented on the top so larger coffee mugs didn't fit - and I like large/giant coffee mugs. This one is like the cordless cellphone chargers: totally flat on top so the width of what you place on there isn't a restriction.The on/off switch is pressure sensitive so a quick touch is all it takes. The switch glows red on high and blue on medium. Dark when off. Very nice. Gets up to temperature quickly too. I'm impressed.It came well packaged and even had that plastic prong on the plug so the plug wouldn't get damaged. I would definitely buy this again and give as a gift.
