I’m giving it 4 stars because it does what it says but I read the reviews and people were saying it working with Netflix... it DOESNT!!!

I used this on my iPad Pro and also tried in on an iPad Mini. It did not work on either. I hit the "Trust" button and it asked for a passcode. There is no mention of a passcode anywhere in the manual or Amazon ad. And you cannot make one up for it. The only thing that appears on the TV screen is a QR code and a version number. I tried the app to update the iPads but there was no change and it still did not work. This is supposed to be a plug and play. Not, plug, follow 200 steps, and maybe play.

I bought this because I wanted to watch shows on Netflix and Hulu. As soon as you go to the app to play anything no picture shows up or sound, but it says it’s playing. Very disappointing, and not sure how other people got it to work because I’ve tried everything I can think of. Also the adapter gets very warm after a short amount of time.

I'm using this adapter with an iPhone X and haven't had any problems at all - it works as advertised. My only complaint is that I was hoping it would work using the power from the phone, but it definitely requires the external power cord to be connected to a USB power supply. The measured current draw on this device was 130mA - which tells me why the external power supply is needed - it would drain a phone battery fairly quickly without it. The device does get warm to the touch (not hot), but I left it powered for over 24 hours and it still worked flawlessly. I have run HD video without any noticeable degradation in the quality.

Had this for a few months. When it first arrived, it somewhat worked. I say that loosely, but it did put a picture on my tv screen. Fast forward to about 2 months ago. I plugged it back in and kept getting an error. Evidently, this accessory is no longer compatible with my iPhone 8 Plus or my iPad Air 2 because of a software issue. Tried to update whatever the issue was with zero luck. This is useless now.

The HDMI Adapter did not work with either my iPhone SE or my spouse’s iPhone 6. But the charger cord did. So I contact the email address provided. In less then a minute I received the company’s helpful reply. Works great!! Just a note. The adapter must be connected to a charger cable and charging for it to work with my iPhone. Sharp, clear videos and sound. Very happy with this product. Plus, fantastic customer service.

As usual with technology, it's usually not as easy it sounds in the instructions. I don't know if it was my iPad or the smart board I was connecting to, but it took some tweaking. I was able to figure it out, but it was a little frustrating. I had no problem with the actual AV adapter, the instructions were a little skimpy. However, I don't think anything can be done about that because of the multitude of different media out there.

Finally had a need for this cable. After hooking it up, the picture on the monitor blinked continuously while causing a lot of crackling and popping over the speakers. To verify it was the wire, and not the monitor, I then hooked the cable to a television. Same result. I flushed my money down the toilet and never got a single use. Buyer beware!!! I plan to contact the seller but this is more painful than it should be.
