Sunflower is sturdy but door comes open easily
Very cute, like it well enough. Door, though I re bent the closer part, comes open easily. We just use a small piece of wire to help it stay shut.....a tad of a hassle but overall ok. Sunflower itself is very heavy and well made. We've had ours knocked off by squirrels and deer trying to get into it and the sunflower has held up well (biggest reason why the wire for the door is less annoying than it could be). So far 3 types of woodpeckers and myriad of other birds visiting. I actually would buy it again.

Good Value and lots of Birdie Endorsements
Very clever squirrels in Chicago--latch doesn't lock well enough to deter them especially now that they've learned to drape themselves over the feeder without getting impacted by the 'points' on the sunflower. Now I use a piece of twine to hold the gate closed. Easy to deal with in all but the coldest weather. When it's really cold, I bring the feeder inside to put in a new cake of suet. Red-bellied Woodpeckers come to the feeder several times a day along with lots of Downy Woodpeckers. Very happy with the feeder (except for the 'lock') and so are all the woodpeckers!

Looks nice in the yard, but that's about it.
I'm only giving this three stars because, as others have said in their reviews, the birds don't seem to want to use this feeder as much as the do the standard, green wire feeder. That said, I do like the color and the way it looks, and for that reason, I consider it a nice addition to the yard and do not regret buying it. Woodpeckers will use it, and occasionally, a braver chickadee or sparrow. The squirrels are the most frequent visitors to this feeder, which I don't mind because it distracts them from my other feeders. Also, the door doesn't always stay secure, and some of the smarter squirrels know how to work the latch, after which they score the entire suet square.

Well made duet feeder
This is a great suet feeder; made of durable, fairly thick metal so it will hold up to squirrel damage. I love the bright yellow color; it’s really cheerful hanging off my trellis. It’s visited by woodpeckers every day! My only complaint is that the door was not very snug in it’s closing tension so I added a small piece of wire to keep it closed so that the squirrels don’t make off with a cake. It’s totally worth it and I’m glad it was heavy duty.

Cherry Valley Feeder Sunflower Hanging Suet Feeder
Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but is really cute and I'm sure I will enjoy. I had an awful problem with Squirrels openning up my feeders if they latched shut on the side and suet falling to the ground and being wasted, also if I had a feeder with the metal roof that lifted up, the roof would be off and turned, suet on the ground. This feeder interestingly has a little slide bar in the front and i have yet to see a squirrel with a fine tactical touch that would be able to unlatch it. So I expect no more suet on the ground. The holder again is very pretty as well as functional. If I should have issues with it, will be sure to update.

it hangs beautifully in my garden
I'm very new to bird watching and tending so I didn't realize that I don't live in an area (Southern California) where there's a significant amount of suet eaters, and certainly no winter to speak of. I'm still giving this feeder five stars because of its ease of use, how well it holds suet, and when empty, it hangs beautifully in my garden. I'm thinking I might try putting fruit in it and see if that works. Hopefully as both my garden and bird attracting grows, I might get a few of the local suet eaters lured in, and I can always hope for migrating visitors. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Do not buy this!!!!!
I’d bought one of these years ago and it was super great. Had it for years, until a bear recently took it. I’ve recently ordered two of these. I hadn’t put them up(had bear problem again). He’s seems to be absent now so I thought I’d put them up. .I noticed they were a bit different from the one I ordered way back. And well, they ARE HORRIBLE!!!!! Neither will close. The suet falls right out. Guess they are made cheaper or something. I wouldn’t waste your money.

looks very nice in the yard but the birds dont seem to come to it often. If it wasnt so pretty i would take it down but i just leave the suet in there until the other one that the birds go to is empty and replace it with the suet in this feeder. I think I bought this one more for me than for my birds, but I still like it
